Prototype Information
Z526 was the first steam loco built at the VR newport workshops,
in 1883. Z526 was the only 0-6-0 Z class loco built, and was
converted into a steam crane early in her life. Mainly based at
North Melbourne and then Dynon, she was kept in steam 24/7 in
case of an emergency. In the end Z526 was transferred to Newport,
and later converted back to a tank loco by the apprentices there.
Z526 now resides at Scienceworks in Spotswood, Melbourne.
Model Information
The model of Z526 that I have created represents the loco in the
current condition. I have no information as to what the loco
looked like in 1883, so had to go by the current look of the loco.
This model is a high poly model, and is relatively basic. The
model comes in both Broad Gauge and Standard Gauge, as well as
a Razorback Railway version and a 'christmas' themed version.
